Being a traveling destination wedding photographer isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes booking a regular ole Holiday Inn closest to the airport is the most logical and convenient option, depending on my next day of travel. But when opportunity allows, I prefer to book a local accommodation that is packed with character, like this adorable B&B that was kiiiinda smack dab in the middle of nowhere.

I was traveling to photograph Cynthia & Josh’s wedding at The Providence Cotton Mill in Maiden, NC, which is roughly 30 minutes outside of Charlotte. While searching for accommodation I discovered the cutest B&B within a a town or two over, The Holly & Ivy Inn located in Newton, NC. And let me tell you, this place was exactly what I had hoped for!

I’m a Carolina girl who has been stuck in the Florida heat with no sense of Autumn in the air whatsoever, so pulling up to this view with the leaves on the ground and feeling the cool crisp air around me, I felt so happy!
